Well.......I'm all about saving money (well, spending it to!) I drive my mom to work at UCI, then I go and to my friend Rita's and we carpool to work from from there. We get commuter points at work which eventually turns into money. Basically it's $1 a day. Big whoop, but in a couple of months, that's huge.
Last Saturday we threw a baby shower for my sister Jennifer. We thought it was best to throw ours after the baby was born since she was having like 4 before hand. Plus this way, family members we don't get to see that often got a chance to see little Breann. We had it at the Souplantation in Brea. It was great! We had it on the patio. The weather was warm, but they had an awning with ceiling fans that just made it nice. Who knew?!?! My friend Rita captured some great photos that I've posted below. (she has a blog spot where you can look at these photos and other events she's captured at http://ritalcaporaso.blogspot.com/).
Anyway, Bre got a ton of clothes and hair bands! Whoo hoo!! We had our guests bring something to fill up baby bottles with. The idea was to bring something that Jenn can use. That turned out great...... she got jelly beans, baby powder, hair bands and baby shampoo. The funniest (and probably most useful!) was a bottle filled with condoms wrapped in lingerie.
Here are some pics from the party....see ya!
What did you do for fun when you were a kid? How is it different from what you see kids doing now?

I have so many fun memories of when I was a kid. I grew up in a neighborhood of all boys so I was pretty much a loner when it came to girl stuff. We would play GI Joe's, build forts and dig holes and all sorts of stuff. I remember taking swimming lessons at the park and selling lemonade on the corner. OMG, I totally sound like an old movie or something. haha.....I had Barbie's and Cabbage Patch dolls and all that stuff to, but like I said, I was pretty much left to play with that stuff by myself. As I got older and met girls in elementary school that lived by me I grew apart from the boys in the neighborhood. My friend Laurie and I would ride bikes or go to the beach pretty much everyday. If we weren't there then we were swimming or playing softball. We would go to the mall or to the movies once in a while also. Man, these days though, I don't think I would even let Lexi go down the street without adult supervision. It's so sad. Granted she's only 5 but still....haha... When I used to work inside the park (Disneyland), I would see kids (of all ages) just raising havoc. They were so rude and obnoxious. I know we weren't angels by any means, but we would still have respect towards other people. Back when I was little, we didn't have cable or ipods or cell phones. I didn't even have a TV in my room until I was like 15. I think Lexi got her "Princess TV" when she was 2! I've learned that with each generation, patience becomes more and more scarce. Typically they don't hear a busy signal on the phone or have to go to a library to do a report. With one click on the computer you can pretty much have your report done in an hour. It's all now, now, now. I complain about it, but yet, I'm right there doing it myself as well. How did I ever survive without my phone and youtube!!! :)
What most excites you about the way you're living your life right now?
The most exciting part is that I know God has a plan for my life. No matter what troubles or bumps I may be having, I know my life is in his hands and he will take care of me. That gives me such peace and serenity. For the past couple of years I have been learning how to let go and let God. Growing up I always believed in God, but never really knew him. I was "too cool" for that. I went to church in high school with some friends, but mainly it was to meet people. After graduation I attempted to go to different churches a few times, but found myself bored. It wasn't until I started going to Parkcrest and Celebrate Recovery that I really got to know God and saw what he could do in my life. I've found my way to serve through music which only brings me closer to him.
